本片翻拍於六十年代的旧版，看似是经典西部片的迴归作，但实际上却是一部披西部片外衣架空背景的超级英雄作品。与旧版相比，此片似乎更注重政治正确，比如七牛仔对种族和肤色的区别度要大於性格的差异，而且顺应好莱坞热衷的女权主义，增加了一个独立勇敢的女性形象而又流於表面，可见编导只不过是刻意加上种族标籤和性别标籤，完成政治正确的任务，而忽略基本的剧情塑造。当然本片确实是一部合格的爆米花电影，动作和笑点都控制得当，借西部牛仔的皮掀起一股復古潮流，只是如此政治正确的做法，反而没学到西部片任何神髓，彻底沦為一部披西部片外衣的超级英雄作品。
